Hogle Zoo, Temple Square, and the Splash Pad

After my Aunt Pam left, we took the kids to the Hogle Zoo. Delson loved seeing the animals, specifically the elephants and the giraffes. He also got to ride the merry-go-round and the train at the zoo and he had so much fun. Grandma bought him a fairly large stuffed tiger and it is his favorite new toy. He walks around the house going "Roar, roar" over and over. He's such a cutie. Another day we took the kids to Temple Square. It was awesome to see the new part of the South Visitor's Center. They have a good sized diorama of the Salt Lake Temple and a layout of everything inside. It is super cool, especially for people who have not been in the temple and wonder what is inside. I recommend going if you are ever in town. After the temple, we took Delson to play at this newly built Splash Pad in Park City. It is awesome and much better than the pool right now since he is so small. He loved playing in all of the different fountains and was completely soaked within a matter of a few minutes. Overall, we had a fabulous trip to Park City. My parents did so much for us. We had many fabulous dinners and they helped so much with the children. I am extremely grateful to my parents for everything they did for us while we were there. Hopefully we can do this again next year. I love you Mom and Dad!

Family Visits, Bike Rides & A Moose

After Bryce Canyon, Alex went back home for the next 2 weeks so he could work. We sure missed him! However, my Aunt Pam came to visit for a week and we had a great time with her. She loved the babies and we enjoyed going to the Art Festival and the pool together as well as watching NCIS. I also bought a bike trailer because Delson is obsessed with bikes, but still too small to ride one himself, so this was a great way to get him out of the house and "riding" a bike. He loves the trailer. Then, one day a mother moose and two babies came walking out from around our house and we took some up close and personal pictures. Moose sure are some amazingly beautiful and intimidating animals.

Bryce Canyon

After all of the family left, Alex and I took a 2 day trip to Bryce Canyon by ourselves and left the children with my parents. It was so much fun to get away and enjoy the beautiful scenery together. First we drove to the Manti temple and did a session. That temple is beautiful inside and out! We stayed the night at Panguitch Lake, about 30 minutes outside of Bryce, in our own little cabin and it was beautiful! We would like to go back there sometime and maybe do some trout fishing. The next morning we drove all around Bryce Canyon. It was gorgeous! On the way back we met up with a good friend from Utah and went to see Inception (one of my top 5 all time favorite movies now) and ate at Wingers. Boy do we miss the good food joints in Utah! We had a great getaway!

This area is called Bryce Point and, yes, Alex actually took this picture with our camera. This was my favorite scenic stop in Bryce Canyon. So breathtakingly beautiful!

Park City Resort

We took Delson and my niece, Leila, to Park City Resort where they have the Alpine Slide for the adults as well as some fun rides for the little ones. Delson was deathly afraid of the airplane ride and I feel bad that we put him on it because he cried the entire ride. But he loved the train because Leila rode it with him and the merry-go-round was great too because Momma got to go with him. Then the adults and Leila took a ride down the Alpine Slide. Next year Delson will be old enough to do that one too.

Park City, Utah

I'm sorry I have not blogged in so long. We have been in Park City for the last three weeks and I have been lazy, but now I have a lot of catching up to do and I have taken so many pictures that, needless to say, I am going to have quite a few posts. Alex and the kids and I arrived in PC early on the morning of Friday, July 30 after driving 10 hours all night long. We thought the kids would do great sleeping on a long drive, but we were wrong because they only ended up sleeping about 4 hours of the drive and it wasn't all blocked together either. It was kind of chaotic. After we arrived, the whole rest of our family and some extended family also arrived, so we had a full house and it was a lot of fun. We took some professional family pictures, went to dinner, played with the kids, and went to the pool. It was a fabulous weekend with family! Here are the pictures from our family weekend.
