Pregnancy Pics

I just reached 28 weeks and my third trimester!  I can hardly believe I only have 12 weeks left, less than 3 months, until this baby girl will be here!  It's crazy!  We are getting more and more excited to see her beautiful face though.  I just had another full ultrasound last Thursday and she is looking great!  She already weighs 2 lbs 7 oz and she has 10 fingers and 10 toes.  However, she would NOT show us her face.  The technician probably tried for nearly 20 minutes to get this baby girl to show us her face, but she just wouldn't have it.  At first she was covering her face with her foot, which seems VERY uncomfortable, so the technician had me lay on my left side and then on my right side to try to get her to change positions.  Then when the technician checked again, baby girl had both hands in front of her face.  No poking and prodding or noise maker could get her to show us her face, so we will just have to wait until her big debut in September.  Love that baby girl already!

What the Kids Have Been Up To

A lot has happened with the kids over the past couple months.  They are talking a lot, singing a lot, swimming, riding bikes, and just loving life for the most part.  In the last month, Delson learned how to ride a bike WITHOUT training wheels and we are amazed!  He was watching some big boys ride their bikes at the park without training wheels and from that moment on he really wanted to learn to ride without his.  Over the course of about 3 weeks, Daddy slowly moved the training wheels up and Delson eventually learned to balance and now he can ride without them completely.  He is amazing us constantly.  Kambria also got a little tricycle and she is loving having her own little pink bike to ride.

The kids are really loving singing, especially primary songs.  Delson has been singing "The Wise Man and the Foolish Man," "Follow the Prophet," "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home," and "I Am a Child of God."  And because he walks around singing these songs all the time, Kambria is picking them up too and she loves to sing them as well.  It is fun to hear such young voices singing such precious songs.  I LOVE to hear them sing!

Of course, there are other inappropriate things the kids are saying, and Alex and I are realizing more and more that we need to watch what we say.  For instance, one day at church right in the middle of the sacrament, Delson yelled out, "Babe....shave your freaking beard."  He tends to call Daddy "Babe" whenever he really wants to get his attention and apparently I need to stop saying "freaking."  Delson also loves to talk about his penis at the most inappropriate times, which is usually when we are sitting at the dinner table with the missionaries for some reason.  And Kambria has picked up on the word "penis" too.  When Alex took them to swim lessons one day, he took the kids to the men's locker room to get dressed and apparently Kambria continued to look around the room and ask dad with a questioning voice, "Penis?" over and over.  I'm so glad I wasn't there because I would have been SUPER embarrassed.  Silly silly kiddos.  They sure make us laugh!

As far as swim lessons go, both kids were able to be enrolled in the same class at our local racquetball club which made it super easy for me.  They attended swim lessons everyday Monday through Thursday for a half an hour for 3 weeks and they loved it!  They are doing a really great job swimming and I'm glad they are getting better acquainted with the water.  They are growing and changing so fast and it is hard to believe that in less than 3 months we will be adding another little girl to the mix.  They are excited to see and meet their little sister!  Enjoy the pictures and videos!

My Garden

This year Alex and I finally decided to go for it and really plant a garden.  It was a great Mother's Day present to me because we planted it the day before and it looked so beautiful and was so much fun!  We planted 3 different types of strawberries, 5 types of tomatoes, jalapenos, poblano peppers, habanero peppers, banana peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, and cilantro.  The grapes and black and red raspberries we planted in the fall are growing beautifully and my roses, dahlias, and gladiolas look gorgeous too!  I'm SO excited to have a beautiful growing garden.  We have already harvested lots of black raspberries and a HUGE banana pepper.  The tomatoes, zucchini, and jalapenos are just starting to come in and we have had a few tiny strawberries, but they will probably do better next year.  I'm so proud to actually say that I have a growing garden this year.  Hooray!  The pictures below are progressive from May 12 to today July 1.

It's a.....

GIRL!!!  We are so excited to announce that we are having another girl!  And I have to say that I was SUPER surprised to hear we were having another girl because I was 99% sure it was a boy.  When it came to first trimester morning sickness, I was sick with Delson, not at all sick with Kambria, and extra sick with this baby, so I figured it had to be another 'Y' chromosome, but apparently sickness means nothing.  The ultrasound tech even checked twice for us to make sure and the baby was giving us a good view of her anatomy, so it is definitely a girl.  It sure doesn't matter to me whether it's a boy or a girl, but another girl will be fun for Kambria and I'm glad I get to use all of my cute girl clothes again.  Delson on the other hand was a bit disappointed to hear he was having a sister because he really wanted a brother, but he will be a great big brother anyways.  I told him maybe he will get a brother next time.  :-)

Hawaii Videos

I thought I would upload a couple of videos from Hawaii so that everyone can see what a fish Delson is in the water.  He can't get enough of it and I can't wait to get him enrolled in swim lessons this year. He will LOVE it!  (These videos are kind of long, so don't feel obligated to watch the whole thing.)

Hawaii

Over the first weekend in April, my in-laws decided that they were going to use their Disney Vacation Club points and take the entire family to the brand new Aulani Disney Resort in Ko Olina, Hawaii in May.  It was a pretty last minute trip decision, but no one could complain when it came to a nice vacation in Hawaii.  We were so excited!  We left Wednesday, May 2 and arrived on Oahu around noon.  We had time to check out the hotel and get acquainted with all that it had to offer including its pools, beach, lazy river and splash pad.  It was amazing!

On Thursday we traveled to the North Shore where we checked out the Laie, Hawaii Temple and the Polynesian Cultural Center.  We were at the PCC for 7 hours!  It was a LONG day there, but the kids did surprisingly fantastic considering they were jet lagged.  At first Delson was scared of the Polynesian men because of their face makeup and their shouting, chanting and stomping, but by the end of the day, he was into it.  He especially LOVED the night show, "Ha: Breath of Life," and the fire throwing demonstration.

Del had all the girls get airbrush tattoos.  Check out some of our sweet wedge shoes.  I'm in the middle with the palm tree tattoo and my shoes probably add 6" to my height.  They are SWEET!

On Friday we had a great day playing at the pool and the beach.  Delson is a FISH and loves to put his head under the water all the time.  Kambria mostly enjoyed playing in the sand and just dipping her toes in the water.  Friday night, Del and Daneen were SO generous to watch all 4 of the grandkids so that the adults could go out for a night on the town.  We went to a yummy authentic Hawaiian restaurant, Highway Inn, that had been featured on Food Network's, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and the food was fantastic!  Then we headed to downtown Waikiki for some shopping and walking along the beach.  It was a GREAT night out for all the adult siblings!  

The fish!  Delson figured out he could see his toes while under the water, so Del bought him some goggles and he LOVED them.  He would throw a penny into the pool over and over and go under to get it.

On Saturday we all went to the famous flea market at the Aloha Stadium.  We found some really beautiful Hawaiian made jewelry, purses, ukuleles and other trinkets to bring home.  For lunch, we drove to the Dole Plantation where we checked out some pineapple plants and bought some yummy pineapple treats.

Sunday, we attended sacrament meeting and for lunch we went to a great place where I ordered Macadamia nut pancakes.  Boy were they delicious!  Then we headed to Pearl Harbor where we were able to see some of the history of our great nation and learn about our involvement in WWII.  It was a very humbling experience and we were even able to go out and see the remains of the USS Arizona.  How grateful I am to all of those men and women who gave their lives for our country and the freedoms we enjoy.

Monday and Tuesday were dedicated to spending lots of quality time on the beach and in the pool.  We had to get our tan on!  We had some great times in the sun!

Wednesday morning before we all headed to the airport, we had a Disney Character breakfast where the kids were able to meet and take pictures with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.  They LOVED meeting them!  

Delson really loves Goofy, so he got 2 hugs from him.

We had an INCREDIBLE trip where we made some once in a lifetime family memories.  It was hard to leave and as soon as we stepped off the airplane in Seattle, even Delson looked up at me and said, "Mom, I want to go back to Hawaii."  Didn't we all!  Hopefully we will get to return someday in the future.  Thank you Del and Daneen for taking us!  This trip will NEVER be forgotten!
