It's a GIRL!

Alex and I went to my ultrasound today and we were astonished to hear that we are having a girl. It still doesn't seem like it could be true, but I have compared Delson's ultrasound picture to this one, and if this baby is a boy, he is definitely missing a vital piece of anatomy. So...it must be a GIRL! We are so excited and so is the rest of the family, particularly Alex's parents. (It will be their first girl ever.) I think we will all actually believe it when we see her in person. Only 20 more weeks to go until we meet this new little girl. The ultrasound tech had a really difficult time getting a good picture of her face because she just wouldn't keep her hands down. She already wanted to play peek-a-boo. And the tech also commented that she is a mover because her head was up one minute, and then down the next and then up again. She was all over the place, so we may have another busy body like Delson. It will be fun to see how different and how alike the two of them are. Delson will now be a big brother to a little sister. SO FUN! Enjoy the ultrasound pictures! (Click them to enlarge.)

Yes! It is true. I am pregnant again! This time the baby is due January 31st, which puts me just over 13 weeks pregnant right now and puts Delson and the baby just over 13 months apart. Am I crazy?! I think so, but we are still excited!

Delson & Case

Alex's cousin, Sharee, came to visit her family in Tri-Cities for a week, and she even made time to come over to my house for a few hours with her son, Case. The last time I saw Case was when Delson was born, which was a while ago, so it was great to see them and to put the two boys together. The boys played on the floor in the family room for a bit and then we took them outside to play in the little kiddie pool that I bought. It was a lot of fun. We really miss having Bryce and Sharee around (they moved to Denver last August because Bryce is getting his MBA.) And we won't get to see them again until Christmas, so I'm glad we were able to get this short visit in.

Park City, UT

Alex, Delson and I went to Park City, UT to visit my parents for a little while. Alex rode his motorcycle down with his dad, Damon, and Scot and they only stayed the weekend. Delson and I flew, which was Delson's first commercial flight, and he did okay, but flying by yourself with a child is very difficult. I don't know how women do it by themselves with more children. We had a wonderful time with my parents. It was nice to have some extra help with Delson for a while so that I could sleep in a couple mornings. We took Delson to the community pool and my mom even bought a little play pool for him, which he loved. We also went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house, which was wonderful. That temple is gorgeous. We also got to see our friends, Kristen and Sean and their son, Gavin. It was great to visit with them for a few hours. I hope you like the pictures:

7 Months Old Now

Delson is now just over 7 months old and he has changed so much in a month. He is now crawling around like a pro. He is on his hands and knees and really fast. I can hardly leave the room for a few seconds and he is getting into something he shouldn't be. I really don't want him to start walking because I know it will be that much worse. He has also started pulling himself up to stand. He LOVES to stand. He is always standing in his crib and at the coffee table and at our chairs. He loves to go right towards the entertainment center too and stand up at the TV and try to play with the video stuff, which isn't good. He is just so smart and learning and changing so quickly. It makes me kind of sad. He just isn't a baby anymore. His bottom 2 teeth have popped through his gums too. He will never have a toothless smile again, which also makes me sad, but he is still adorable. Here are some cute pictures.

4th of July

I'm sorry I haven't posted in SO long. I'm just not very good at it anymore, but now I have quite a lot of catching up to do. We had a great 4th of July at Del & Daneen's this year. It was nice that instead of the normal gun shooting frenzy and explosions, the boys built a gigantic slip-n-slide out of a tarp. They sure seemed to have a lot of fun on it. They would spray themselves with the hose and cover their bodies in dish soap so they could go really far. It was pretty hilarious. I took Delson swimming in the pool and then there were fireworks and lots of food of course. Enjoy the pictures! (Click on the pictures to blow them up and see more detail.)

6 Month Photo Shoot

Delson is now officially 6 months old. I feel like this is a huge milestone to reach and I can hardly believe he is half a year old already. He has changed and grown so much in the last 6 months. It is still hard for me to wrap my head around it. But I love him more and more every day and I know he loves me too. He is such a sweetheart. Today he had his 6 month doctor check up. He weighed in at 20 lbs 7 oz which put him in the 90th percentile and is 28 1/4" long putting him in the 97th percentile. WOW! He is a really big boy. The doctor said that usually he would think a baby this weight was chubby, but because Delson is so long, if he weighed any less, he would think he was too skinny. So...in other words, Delson is a big healthy boy.

Some cute things about him lately.... He started on rice cereal a couple of weeks ago and vegetables just a week ago. He does NOT like green beans, but I still forced him to eat them. He will eat them, but he makes a face and twitches every time he takes a bite and towards the end, he starts to gag, which is when I stop of course. I think he is going to be a picky eater like his dad. Tomorrow he gets to try fruits, so I'm hopeful that he will like those a lot more.

On Saturday he went swimming in Grandpa Del and Grandma Daneen's pool. At first he didn't really like it, but once daddy took a hold of him and taught him how to splash and pulled him through the water really fast, he started to like it. He ended up really relaxing and enjoying it, so we definitely have to do that more often. I don't have any pictures of him in the pool, but we did get it on Grandpa Del's video camera, so we will have to get that from him and post it on the blog. It was a really fun experience.

Delson is also starting to crawl. He is mostly army crawling. He will get up on his knees and rock back and forth, but he hasn't quite figured out how to put one knee in front of the other. He will figure it out soon though. He is very determined and he really wants to get his hands on everything and explore anything he can. Once he is really crawling, I know I will be telling him "NO" all the time and having to put everything away and out of his reach, but it will be good for him to finally explore. Enjoy the pictures!
