Baby's Room

So it has taken Alex and I way longer to get the baby's room set up then we thought it would. And actually the crib isn't quite complete yet because we are missing a few pieces of hardware still. But I really wanted to get some pictures up, so we just set it up with what we have for now and we should get the rest of the hardware from Home Depot this week, hopefully. Painting was crazy. First we put on a primer and then we applied 2 coats of paint, which took forever since you have to wait so many hours between each coat. Then when we tried to pull the tape off, it took a lot of paint off with it. So I had to go back around all of the edges and touch them up very carefully so as not to get paint everywhere. It was ridiculous. Neither of us is ever really wanting to paint again after that experience. Applying the wallpaper strip was another interesting feat. We finally figured out how to put it up and then we ran out with less than 6 feet to go, so I had to order another whole roll. We should be getting the rest of it in the mail tomorrow, so we can finish the cute border soon. Despite all of these things that have held us up, I finally have some pictures to post. I want to thank my Aunt Pam, my Aunt Darcy, and my Nana for contributing to some of the cute things in the baby's room such as the lamp, the mobile, and the hamper. Thank you so much! I love the matching stuff and the room looks so cute and complete with all of those things in it. We just need to get a changing table and then we will be set. So if Delson decides to come early, I will be ready for him. Oh....it feels really good to be prepared.

27 Weeks, Our Home, and Other News

So I am really sorry I have not posted anything on the blog in awhile. Alex and I still do not have internet at our house and so I can only post from work. And we have been super busy getting settled into our new place. We did get moved in over Labor Day weekend with the help of my mom and dad and Del and Daneen. I am so glad that they were able to come and help us because it made the moving in much quicker. The house is great! We love it! I have really enjoyed being able to cook dinner again and I always feel like cooking because my kitchen is so much fun. I will try to post some pictures of the house after this weekend because it is still kind of messy and Alex and I are going to get the baby's room set up tomorrow. I am really excited to get that room done. Then I will feel more prepared for when he is born.

As of 2 days ago, I am officially 27 weeks along. I can't believe how fast the time is going by now. I have less than 3 months until the baby is born! Yikes! And I don't think I have announced it on the blog yet, but Alex and I are pretty sure we are going to name the baby Delson Alexander. So if I use the name Delson, you will know who I am talking about. I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday, and the doctor said that everything is looking great and I am measuring where I should be. He said that I was hardly showing even though I feel like I am huge. You can decide for yourselves from the picture. Sleeping is getting more uncomfortable, and Delson is constantly moving! But I'm glad to know that everything is going well in there for him. Oh also....I passed my glucose test with flying colors. My blood sugar measured 95 and it is not supposed to be above 140, so I am glad that I have good insulin. And the drink really wasn't that bad. I had the lime drink, so it really just tasted like extra sugary Sprite. I'm relieved to know that I do not have to go back in for the long 4 hour glucose test. :)

23 Weeks

I am now 23 weeks and my belly is growing. Alex is constantly touching it and calling me "Big Belly" because he can hardly believe it. He especially thinks that my bellybutton looks funny and it sure does. But it is exciting. I had a doctor's appointment today and things are still looking great. They are keeping my original due date of December 17th, so hopefully baby boy will want to come a little early so that he won't be too close to Christmas. I got to hear his heartbeat again too and it was a nice, strong 156 bmp. I'm glad that things are progressing so well. At my next appointment I have to do the glucose test for gestational diabetes, so I am not looking forward to that, but I'm sure it won't be as bad as it sounds. Overall, I'm a happy pregnant woman because my belly isn't too big yet. :)

More news about the house. Everything is looking wonderful. The house is now painted and the outside is landscaped. They have also put carpet and light fixtures inside, so everything should be finished on time for Tuesday of next week. We are still on time to close on August 29 and then move in over Labor Day weekend! I can't wait to be in our OWN home! It will be so nice to finally own our very own place. I really feel like an adult now. Here is a picture of the house:

21 Weeks

After much demand for a belly picture, I am posting a picture of myself at 21 weeks! Yeah...I am over half way through!

House News

So the house builders accepted our offer and we cannot wait to move into our house at the end of August. We are supposed to close on the house on August 29th and hopefully move in over Labor Day weekend. I cannot wait to have our very own home and get settled in and ready to start our family.

Park City

Last week I went to visit my parents in Park City, Utah for a whole week. It was so nice to see them after 4 months of being away. They loved being able to see my belly and we had fun shopping for little baby boy clothes too. It was very relaxing and we did a lot of fun things. It was especially nice to see my older sister, Miranda, her husband, Reza, and my niece, Leila. I miss them so much. Some of our activities included hiking to the Timpanogos caves, attending a session at the Salt Lake Temple, swimming in the pool, eating at Cafe Rio, and seeing the X-Files movie. It's a BOY!!!

So....the big news today is that I had my 19 week ultrasound and we are officially having a BOY! Could you expect anything else from a Christensen boy? I don't think so. We are SUPER excited! Here are some really awesome ultrasound pictures:

Here is the proof that the baby is definitely a boy! The tech and my doctor were both shocked at how "not shy" the baby was with his private parts. Haha...that's my boy. He must take after Alex.

These are a couple of amazing 3D ultrasound pictures. This technology is incredible since it is sound waves that are creating such an awesome picture! You can really see what the baby looks like. I don't like that he is close to sucking his thumb in the second picture though. We all know that thumb sucking leads to braces and possibly head gear. I will have to break that habit first thing after he is born. I'm half way through my pregnancy now!
