Delson & Kambria

My 2 cuties are changing everyday.  It is amazing to see the changes that occur so quickly.  Delson is talking up a storm lately.  He learns several new words daily and he picks them up first try.  Some words I didn't think he even knew, he just spits out and I am amazed.  He is getting so smart and it is getting SO much easier to communicate with him and he is starting to obey me much better.  I am VERY happy with my growing boy.  I can hardly believe he is 2.  At Delson's 2 year doctor appointment, he measured in at 30.5 lbs (75%-ile) and 37.5" (97%-ile).  He is a big boy!  

Kambria is amazing me everyday too.  She is getting very close to walking and her personality is really starting to shine.  She is a sweetie pie the majority of the time, but I have learned that she knows how to throw a huge tantrum when she wants to, like when you try to give her a sippy cup with her milk in it instead of a bottle.  I don't know how I am going to switch her over to a sippy cup.  She gets PISSED...so much so that she can't even drink her bottle for the next 10 minutes until she calms down enough.  But she is sweet.  She giggles really easily and smiles most of the day.  And she LOVES Delson!  He always puts a smile on her face and she follows him EVERYWHERE, which he likes most of the time.  It is fun to see how different she is than Delson when it comes to the word "No".  When we told Delson "No" at her age, he would do it over and over again anyways, which led to a lot of time outs.  When we tell Kambria "No", she gets a really sad frowney face and usually doesn't touch it again.  She is a good girl and growing so big.  And again....I can hardly believe she is going to be 1 at the end of the month.  OH.....time for another baby! :-)  (Don't worry, that's not an announcement.)

For Delson's birthday we gave him his Big Boy Bed and he LOVES it!  He was super excited that night and after jumping on it for almost 2 hours, he slept really well.

We have found Delson asleep in some other funny spots in his room recently.  Here in a bin in his closet.

Christmas 2010

This Christmas we spent a few days at Del and Daneen's house.  It was a lot of fun relaxing altogether as a family and playing games and eating good food.  Of course, I was SUPER terrible about taking pictures, so I don't have very many, but here are a few to celebrate the occasion:

Delson's 2nd Birthday

Delson is officially 2 years old now.  I can hardly believe it.  It's crazy how fast time flies.  He is such a big boy now.  He is in the middle of the terrible twos already, meaning he likes to hit and throw fits and he is SUPER possessive of his toys, but he is also very sweet at times and he is talking up a storm lately.  He is starting to form sentences and it is awesome to see him develop into a little boy.  This age is very exciting but definitely has its challenges.

For Delson's 2nd Birthday party, we decided to do a John Deere tractor theme.  He really liked it.  We had quite a few people over and he had 5 friends there too.  It was a lot of fun and he got some pretty great toys.

The next morning I caught Delson sitting on his new tricycle from Grandpa Del and Grandma Daneen while wearing his cowboy hat.  He is so clever and such a cutie.

Thank you to all the friends and family that came to the party and to all of those who sent gifts.  He got a lot of new things and he LOVES all of it.  His new toys have been keeping him busy the past couple of days and now we need a bigger house to hold it all.  Happy Birthday Delson!  I love you, my big boy!

Ward Christmas Party

This year our ward Christmas party turned out pretty awesome!  Our activities committee chair, Michelle, is amazing and so crafty and she came up with a great idea to do a Polar Express theme for Christmas.  I am on the activities committee, so I had the opportunity to help set up and it was a lot of work, but a lot of fun and the party turned out fantastic!  We decorated the hall outside of the gym of the church building like a train and everyone in the ward took turns sitting on the train and then the train "arrived" at the North Pole, which was the gym.  Just like in the Polar Express movie, we had hot chocolate chefs (the Young Men) and the hot chocolate was delicious.  We had breakfast for dinner and all of the kids wore there pajamas.  After dinner, a counselor in the bishopric read the Polar Express story and then another man led everyone in singing some fun Christmas songs before Santa and Mrs. Claus showed up.  It was a wonderful night and I think everyone will remember this ward Christmas party.  We probably had close to 300 people there and the whole night was a huge success!

When we arrived home from Vegas, we came home to snow!  This was something new for Delson since he was too little to understand the snow last year, so he likes it.  It was beautiful to see our house covered in snow.  The snow makes me feel ready for Christmas!

We have also spent some time at Grandma and Grandpa Christensen's house lately.  It has been fun having the family together and seeing Braden, Delson and Kambria all interact.  Grandma Madge and Grandpa Dick came to visit for a few days too.  It was great to see them!  (And this time we actually remembered the camera.)
