Caribbean Cruise

Alex and I were lucky enough to get to go on another cruise to the Caribbean. This time we went with 3 other couples, of which 2 of the women are pregnant. We cruised with Tanya & Aaron, Kristen & Sean, and Kortney & Chase. Tanya is due with a boy 2 weeks after me, and Kristen is due with a surprise 4 weeks after Tanya. It is exciting that we are all having babies within 6 weeks of each other and we found this to be a great opportunity to get out without kids one last time before we add another to our families.

Our cruise left out of Miami. Our first 2 days were at sea, and then we visited Grand Cayman, then Isla Roatan in Honduras, then Belize, and finally Cozumel, Mexico. Our last day was again at sea. We had a wonderful getaway together and I'm so glad we were all able to make time for this trip in our busy schedules. Enjoy the pictures!

The next few pictures are of us in Grand Cayman. Tanya, Aaron, Alex and I all went snorkeling. We were able to snorkel over a shipwreck and a reef. It was really awesome. Then we met up with Kristen and Sean for lunch and enjoyed some leisure time on the beautiful Seven Mile Beach. There is a picture of the 3 pregnant ladies on the beach. The water was breathtaking.

This next set of pictures is of us in Roatan, Honduras. Here we all took a cab to a beautiful resort called Parrot Island Resort. The setting was gorgeous. We loved the cabanas and the water was delightful. We just enjoyed the setting and the water all day. The resort also had a pool that was beautiful. You can see a picture of me, Kortney, and Tanya in the pool under the waterfall trying to pose sexy. After our resort stop, we bartered with some of the locals while buying some souvenirs.

In Belize, we took about an hour drive out into the jungle. When we arrived, we hiked about 30 minutes deeper into the jungle while carrying tubes, and then we tubed down the river through various caves. It was an awesome excursion. While on our hike, our tour guide found a tarantula, which was huge and really freaky even though they are harmless. Towards the end of the cave tubing, everyone that wanted could swing on the rope swing. You can see Alex taking a good swing out over the water at the bottom.

Then, in Cozumel, Mexico, we took a ferry to Playa Del Carmen, which is on the mainland of Mexico and from there, we took a van out to the Tulum Mayan ruins. It was a beautiful day, but there was 96% humidity, so we were really sweaty walking around. After exploring the ruins and taking a bunch of pictures, we went swimming in the ocean to cool down. It was beautiful and so nice to take a dip after enduring all the heat. Our trip was awesome and we all hope to do another cruise in the spring or summer of 2011 to Alaska. We can hardly wait!

Anaheim, CA

While Alex was working at the PMA convention, Delson and I got to visit my family as well as Tanya & Aaron. We had a really great time. It was a crazy weekend of travel for Delson because we were only there for 3.5 days and we went a lot of places. We had to carry the Pack 'N Play and the car seat everywhere, which was annoying, but we made it work. And Delson's schedule got WAY off, but he was a happy boy overall. It was great to see everyone. So Many Posts

So much has happened in the last month and I have a billion pictures to post. The first weekend of October we traveled to Anaheim, CA for the Produce Marketing Association Convention. Delson and I only went to the convention for a few hours, but Alex was there the whole weekend working. I mostly went with him to visit family and friends, and we had a great time! Then the next weekend, my parents flew up here to watch Delson for 10 days while Alex and I took an awesome Caribbean cruise with our friends, Kristen & Sean, Tanya & Aaron, and Chase & Kortney. We had a wonderful trip! Then Dean and Sarah came over this past weekend and we took the babies to a pumpkin patch and to our ward's Trunk or Treat night. We took a ton of cute pictures! Lincoln City, Oregon

For Daneen's birthday, Del decided to take the whole family and a few friends to Lincoln City, Oregon. They rented a house right on the beach and it was beautiful. We had some gorgeous weather while we were there. We were lucky since it is already September. We went to the outlets and I bought a TON of baby girl clothes already. They are SO cute! We ate at some delicious seafood restaurants and we even went crabbing. It was a great trip, especially since Delson LOVED the beach and the sand. He could have played in it all day. I didn't mind him getting all dirty, but as soon as he figured out he could put it in his mouth, we were done. I can't handle the dirty, sandy mouth. Here are some pictures of him in the sand and a short video too. This video doesn't give a very good depiction, but he would crawl super fast through the sand and throw it up all around him. It was hilarious.

9 Months Old & Picture Update

Sorry it has been such a long time since I have posted anything about Delson. We have been out of town a lot, and when we are home, I'm too exhausted to think about getting online and updating the blog. But I know it is time.

Delson is changing and growing so fast. He is a speedy crawler and he loves to stand, particularly without holding on to anything. He is a great balancer, but he is too scared to take steps yet on his own. He will walk if we hold one of his hands or if he is pushing his push toy, but he's still too chicken to take steps on his own. Not that I want him to walk any time soon, but he is so close, and he gets frustrated so easily that I want to be encouraging. He had his 9 month check up yesterday. He weighed in at 23.4 lbs (90th %-ile) and 30.5" tall (97th %-ile). He is still a big boy. The doctor also told us to our surprise that he had an ear infection. I had no idea. He has not had a cold and he has been sleeping fine. He has been a little whiny in the afternoons, but that is normal, plus he has been getting his top 4 teeth in. So...he is a good boy. We have him on antibiotics now. He is such a sweetie pie and we love him very much.

We finally got our house gated off and so I believe the house is pretty well baby proofed now. And we are working on rearranging the house. I feel like there is a lot to do before our little girl comes and even though she is still 4 months away, we will be out of town a few more times before Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be here before we know it, so I need to get going now. I am definitely in my nesting phase again.

It's a GIRL!

Alex and I went to my ultrasound today and we were astonished to hear that we are having a girl. It still doesn't seem like it could be true, but I have compared Delson's ultrasound picture to this one, and if this baby is a boy, he is definitely missing a vital piece of anatomy. So...it must be a GIRL! We are so excited and so is the rest of the family, particularly Alex's parents. (It will be their first girl ever.) I think we will all actually believe it when we see her in person. Only 20 more weeks to go until we meet this new little girl. The ultrasound tech had a really difficult time getting a good picture of her face because she just wouldn't keep her hands down. She already wanted to play peek-a-boo. And the tech also commented that she is a mover because her head was up one minute, and then down the next and then up again. She was all over the place, so we may have another busy body like Delson. It will be fun to see how different and how alike the two of them are. Delson will now be a big brother to a little sister. SO FUN! Enjoy the ultrasound pictures! (Click them to enlarge.)
