Another Day at the Park

Last Saturday we had the most beautiful and warm 50+ degree bluebird day.  It was very random because all the days before and since have been much colder, but Delson and I took advantage of the nice day and we went to the park to get out those wiggles.  I took quite a few pictures, but I would have taken more if the camera hadn't died.

And this is a random picture of the way I found Delson asleep during one of his naps.  He has loved wrapping his head in his blanket since he was 9 months old.  Silly boy!

Las Vegas in January

Oh Las Vegas!  Alex, Dean and Del decided they were going to attend the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas the weekend before it came to town and Del asked the wives if we would like to go too.  Sarah and I agreed....and the trip was rather crazy.  Del ended up driving us down on his bus Thursday night and we drove back Sunday night.  It was a lot of driving for such a short stay and the kids woke up early on both drives and then Kambria ended up starting a stomach flu chain reaction on the drive home, which wasn't very fun, but other than that, it was nice to see my parents.  I really only took pictures when we went to 2 different parks, but that was the most fun for everyone anyways.  We also got to see Grandma Madge and Grandpa Dick, but I was lame and hardly took any pictures of them. I know I need to be better with my camera, but for now...enjoy these pics:

Remember back when I posted this bottom picture of Delson with his tongue hanging out and I said it reminded me of Grandpa Walt?  Well, while we were in Vegas I got the picture I needed of Grandpa Walt sticking his tongue out.  They might do it slightly differently, but Delson definitely has some of his Grandpa Walt in him.  They just can't seem to focus on the task at hand without a little tongue action.  (You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.)

My 2 cuties are changing everyday.  It is amazing to see the changes that occur so quickly.  Delson is talking up a storm lately.  He learns several new words daily and he picks them up first try.  Some words I didn't think he even knew, he just spits out and I am amazed.  He is getting so smart and it is getting SO much easier to communicate with him and he is starting to obey me much better.  I am VERY happy with my growing boy.  I can hardly believe he is 2.  At Delson's 2 year doctor appointment, he measured in at 30.5 lbs (75%-ile) and 37.5" (97%-ile).  He is a big boy!  

Kambria is amazing me everyday too.  She is getting very close to walking and her personality is really starting to shine.  She is a sweetie pie the majority of the time, but I have learned that she knows how to throw a huge tantrum when she wants to, like when you try to give her a sippy cup with her milk in it instead of a bottle.  I don't know how I am going to switch her over to a sippy cup.  She gets PISSED...so much so that she can't even drink her bottle for the next 10 minutes until she calms down enough.  But she is sweet.  She giggles really easily and smiles most of the day.  And she LOVES Delson!  He always puts a smile on her face and she follows him EVERYWHERE, which he likes most of the time.  It is fun to see how different she is than Delson when it comes to the word "No".  When we told Delson "No" at her age, he would do it over and over again anyways, which led to a lot of time outs.  When we tell Kambria "No", she gets a really sad frowney face and usually doesn't touch it again.  She is a good girl and growing so big.  And again....I can hardly believe she is going to be 1 at the end of the month.  OH.....time for another baby! :-)  (Don't worry, that's not an announcement.)

For Delson's birthday we gave him his Big Boy Bed and he LOVES it!  He was super excited that night and after jumping on it for almost 2 hours, he slept really well.

This is how we found him asleep on his bed the first night he slept on it, with his feet on his pillow.  So funny!

We have found Delson asleep in some other funny spots in his room recently.  Here in a bin in his closet.

Christmas 2010

This Christmas we spent a few days at Del and Daneen's house.  It was a lot of fun relaxing altogether as a family and playing games and eating good food.  Of course, I was SUPER terrible about taking pictures, so I don't have very many, but here are a few to celebrate the occasion:
